A headset keeps the speaker and microphone apart, which reduces echo and improves audio quality. We recommend using one, but choose carefully.
PC headsets: USB or 3.5mm?
- Lower-end PCs: Use a USB headset instead of a 3.5mm audio jack headset. USB bypasses the computer's built-in sound card.
- PCs with a high quality built-in sound card: A 3.5mm headset should work fine.
We have tested Blitzz with a variety of Plantronics and Logitech headsets.
Bluetooth headsets
- Each Bluetooth headset behaves a little differently, which can cause issues.
- If your headset came with a USB Bluetooth adapter, pair it with that adapter instead of your device's built-in Bluetooth to avoid compatibility problems.
- Bluetooth support varies on mobile devices. Some devices don't let answer and hang-up buttons work in apps other than the built-in phone app.
Static noise
Static or white noise often comes from a faulty or misconfigured headset. Try the call with a different headset, or no headset, to find the source.
Frequently asked questions
Should I use a headset for Blitzz calls?
Yes. A headset reduces echo by keeping your speaker sound away from your microphone.
