What are the Media Servers used for?

Blitzz servers are used to establish a connection between the participants for calls that require recording. Blitzz video calls are routed through secured servers, and you can request these to be in your region for security and call quality reasons.

By default, all calls are routed through US servers. Please contact our support team for more information or to change your default server location.

Security

No participant data is stored on any Blitzz servers. Blitzz relies on redundant AWS and Azure supported servers located in the United States to support the service. Azure servers are SOC 2 certified, abide by FIPS 140-2 standards, and are maintained in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Blitzz allows you to select where your data will be processed and routed through in 9 regions across the globe to minimize last mile and latency issues:

  1. US East Coast (Virginia)
  2. US West Coast (Oregon)
  3. Ireland
  4. Germany
  5. Singapore
  6. Japan
  7. India
  8. Australia
  9. Brazil

For example, if you have your agents and customers in Europe, then you want to set Ireland or Germany as your Media Region property and have all the media data for the call route through the chosen data center. This reduces latency and improves call quality because the packets have to travel shorter distances and through fewer hops.
